Under Light Effects
This is a series of set-ups that light in some form is coming up from underneath the piece of jewelry. The surface the jewelry is sitting on is no longer opaque but translucent or transparent. In all of these cases the Under Light is there to create a dramatic look or to solve a visual problem. Quite often with these set-ups some sacrifice to optimal lighting for the piece of jewelry is made to achieve the effect. So these set-ups should be viewed for their unique visual appeal and not for the best documentation of a piece of jewelry.

Full Under Light

In this set-up the entire lighting comes from underneath the piece of jewelry. This is strictly an ad shot for when you are looking for an unusual look. This does not create a technically correct view of the jewelry, but is intended to be dramatic. There are too many special considerations to take into account on this set-up to list them here.

Shaped Under Light

Here the Under Light is shaped and colored to create a dynamic look. In this case the Under Light is not the main light but is used just for background effect. The ability to shape and color the Under Light can lead to many creative possibilities. This set-up is for dramatic advertising photos and not for the best documentation of a jewelry piece.

Clear Film Under Light

This use of the Under Light set-up is designed to leave the background on color transparency film clear. This is useful when using auto masking on the computer or a threshold scanning. This leave the jewelry piece as a separate design element to be used in web sight designs, web catalogs and conventional catalogs.

Summery

This Under Light concept has many more variations and many more creative possibilities then I can cover here. Because of so many variables preset pricing is not possible. I will be happy to discuss you needs in this area and quote you a price.
