Options and Evolutions
There are five important variations
on the classic photo set-up that customers have found useful.

 |
Very Small Group
So you want more then one piece of
jewelry in the picture. Some very small grouping of jewelry can
be accommodated in the Classic Jewelry Photo with out to much
trouble. These very small groups consist of his & her rings,
trio sets, common style rings but never more then three items.
These small groups must be pieces that naturally go together
and can be placed and composed quickly. Pricing is based on the
Classic Jewelry Photo plus a $5 per piece additional charge.
Because of limits with depth of field in this photo set-up I
usually have to compose these shots. Other restrictions may apply,
so it is best we discuss your project to be sure it will work
in this format. If you need more then three piece in the photo
or they are pieces that don't photograph easily together please
see Classic Group Photo. |

Low Angle Photo
In this variation the camera viewing
angle lowers from the standard view, but is never horizontal.
This variation is nice with a ring with strong side designs and
some other special designs. Most pieces of jewelry will not work
well from this view, but for those few special occasions this
is a fantastic set-up. Pricing is the same as for the Classic. |

Pattern Top Light
This is an interesting variation
as the shadowing from the top lights is used to produce a dynamic
affect. This variation does not improve the look of a jewelry
piece, but rather improves the visual interest of the photo.
There are many possible ways to reshape this light. Pricing is
usually the same as for the Classic but there might be additional
charges depending on how complex the lighting effect. |

Photo Study
This variation is designed for a more critical view of an
individual piece of jewelry. Not all pieces can be explained
in a single photo. Some are of such complex design that several
photos must be taken to find that perfect view. This service
is a photographic exploration and documentation of a three dimensional
piece of jewelry. I shoot four different views of a piece. This
usually give a viewer a clear idea of all aspects of a unique
piece. We have also been using this to present and sell jewelry
on the Internet. This multi view of a piece helps to completely
describe a piece and let a customer buy with confidence.
Pricing runs $160 for the first piece and $130 for each additional
piece. |

Phenomenal Gemstones
One special variation of the classic set-up is for phenomenal
gemstones like opal. The lighting that showcases an opal is the
opposite of that which makes polished metal look good. Trying
to blend these two different lighting set-ups in a single economical
set-up is a challenge. This modified classic set-up does the
best job I have found. Pricing is the same as Classic. |
