Horizontal View |
 |
 |
A natural progression that has come
from the Classic Low Angle and the Hanging Jewelry Set-ups is
the Horizontal View set-up. This set-up puts the camera angle
of view perpendicular to a jewelry item like a ring. This view
helps to create a unique, eye-catching photo of the piece. There
are endless possibilities for backgrounds, stages, and jewelry
arrangements with this set-up. In working with this set-up the
past six years, I feel I have just scratched the surface of its
creative potential. |

What this service offers
A unique horizontal view of a ring
or other jewelry
A unique way to combine different
types of jewelry in a single photo
Many creative possibilities for staging
and backgrounds |

Special Considerations
With rings, this set-up is good
at showing side shank detail. If a design is top dominated or
has a featured center stone, the ring must be laid down or cranked
over sideways. Some customers find this is OK to do, while others
feel it makes the piece look to unnatural. So this set-up is
not for everyone and certain styles will not photograph will
in this set-up.
This set-up has very limited depth-of-field. All pieces will
have to be aligned along a single plane. This will make certain
grouping of jewelry impossible. |

Usage
This is a creative advertising shot and not a documentation
of the jewelry. Photos are best used for display advertising
and promotional mailings and not for catalog or portfolio.
Cost
Price is the same as the Classic but all multi piece photos
charged at the Classic Group rate.
Turn Around Time
Usually the same as the Classic but some complicated backgrounds
and stages may require additional time. |
